Gudge and Mary's Camera Gear (and a bit of history)

Gudge learnt to dive in December 1979. No pool training in those days, so he was in the ocean from the start and ended up hand feeding moray eels on his first ever dive. He can still remember the thought that went through his head at that moment clearly, "I've gotta get a camera, no one is going to believe this!". Three months later he got his first camera, a second hand Nikonos III and his bank balance has never recovered.  In 1984 Gudge got his first SLR, a Canon AE-1 in a Canon Marine Capsule.  His new dive buddy had expressed an interest in UW photography so Gudge sold her his much loved Nikonos III.  Two years later at Gudge & Mary's wedding the best man commented that Gudge only married Mary to get his Nikonos III back.

Since then Gudge has used a Canon EOS 1000n in modified Canon Marine Capsule, Canon EOS 50E, Nikon Coolpix 5000, Canon 20D, 40D & 50D all in Subal housings and finally a Canon 7D in Nauticam housing.  Mary moved on to a Nikonos V,  Nikon Coolpix 5200 in Nikon housing, Olympus 5050 in Olympus housing, Canon 400D in Seatool housing and now uses a Canon 50D in a Subal housing.
